The hardest part about re-recording is that I have to teach myself my own songs again. Normally once I've recorded a song and am happy with it, I move on to writing the next song. There are many points on the recordings where I have no idea what I originally played.
I have remixed/re-mastered "See Her Shine" with new drum patterns. I didn't want to totally re-record the song as I particularly like the sound of the guitars towards the end, and I felt that I couldn't accurately reproduce that feeling again.
I have re-recorded "Remember Kara" from scratch. When I originally recorded it, there was no drum track to keep it in time, so this time there is.
I was going to re-record "You Will Roam" from scratch, but I tried overlaying a drum pattern over the original and miraculously it was already in time.
I have also reworked "Blue Light" and "Glitter Gorillas".
“Hate To See You Sad” was one of the first songs that I wrote and recorded (might possibly have been my third). I always liked the song, but the original was quite ropey sound-wise as I didn’t pay attention to recording levels when I was starting out. I like the sound of this version. I didn’t put drums on this one as I feel that it works better without.
Reworked 1. See Her Shine 2. Remember Kara 3. You Will Roam 4. Blue Light 5. Glitter Gorillas 6. Hate To See You Sad 7. See Her Shine (V2)
