I've been recording some cover versions of particular songs that I like from various artists.
"Life Goes On" was originally recorded by The Damned on their Strawberries album. It is one of my favourite songs from that album.
"Magic Potion" was originally by The Open Mind, and was recently played live on the Damned's latest tour.
"Edge of Reality" is an Elvis Presley song that few people outside of the world of Elvis fans will have heard of. I've always wanted to hear a Damned cover of this song.
"Keep On Movin' " by 5ive may be a surprising choice to cover as it was performed by a "boy band", but it is an excellent pop song.
"She Talks to Rainbows" is a Ramones song. I haven't really finished this song.
"The Loveless & The Damned" by The Phantom Chords from their unreleased album. Probably my favourite song from that album.
Cover Versions 1. Life Goes On 2. Magic Potion 3. Edge of Reality 4. Keep On Movin' 5. She Talks to Rainbows 6. The Loveless & The Damned
Some Damned cover versions: 4. Disguise 5. Never Could Believe 6. Plan 9 Channel 7 I quite like Never Could Believe, but Disguise didn’t turn out very well. Plan 9 has my vocals added to a track which was recorded by Love Policeman and Dog from the Damned message board.
And a Phantom Chords one, which is still a work in progress: 7. Gunning For Love A couple of Pink Floyd songs, in memory of Syd Barrett: 8. See Emily Play 9. Lucifer Sam A collaboration with the exceptionally talented Dog from the Damned message board, on a Damned classic. I think it turned out fantastically, even if I do say so myself: 10. I Think I’m Wonderful And a few simple, ropey cover versions that I recorded with just the electro-acoustic guitar and vocal at the same time: 11. Hurt 12. Song To The Siren 13. Come What May
